Yes it is possible to have double glazed wooden sash windows. Single glazed windows only offer limited insulation and double glazing will provide better thermal insulation, reduce energy bills and make your home feel much warmer. It is important to understand that not all double glazing is the same and does not offer the same level of thermal insulation. We can talk you through the various components that go into providing you with efficient double glazing. Whatever solution you choose double glazing will provide between 3 to 5 times more thermal insulation than your current single glazed windows.
Double glazing can either be fitted as part of replacement windows or new double glazed sashes can sometimes be fitted into the existing frames.
New sashes are fully painted and decorated in our workshop. The paint finish is micro porous paint the using the latest in paint technology which not only provides an extremely clean and smart appearance but also allows the wood to breath and expel moisture which will minimise the risk of rot.
